Pest City Map
Nightlife

This Pest City Map shows downtown Pest with the main streets and places of interests. It also includes the metro stations of the three Budapest Metro lines, marked with the appropriate coloured symbols. You can download our Pest City Map in pdf format.
You can easily find your way around in Pest. Concentric semicircular boulevards cut through by several main roads make it a well layed-out city. You'll find the major attractions along the two main semicircular boulevards:

Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút): it begins at the Pest end of Margit híd and in fact it’s a semicircular avenue and consists of five segments: Szt István körút, Teréz körút, Erzsébet körút, József körút and Ferenc körút. You’ll find many shops here, e.g. the West End City Center shopping mall (it’s very trendy among locals, especially the young generation). The Western Railway Station is also on this boulevard. You’ll find bustling squares along Nagykörút. Trams No 4 and 6 run along Grand Boulevard.

Small Boulevard (Kiskörút): lies within the Grand Boulevard. It starts at Szabadság híd (Freedom Bridge) and consists of the following parts: Vámház körút, Múzeum körút, Károly körút, Bajcsy-zsilinszky út and József Attila utca and finally it ends at the Chain Bridge. The small boulevard encirles the historic inner city.

Pest City Map - Major Squares form North to South

  • Nyugati tér Western Train Station stands here.
  • Szabadság tér
  • Vörösmarty Square provides another good orientation point. The heart of Budapest throbs here. I know it sounds poetic but after exploring the Hungarian capital you'll agree with me. The famous pedestrian shopping street Váci utca sets out from the southern part of Vörösmarty Square and runs into Fővám tér with the Great Market Hall at the Pest and of Liberty Bridge. (Szabadság híd)
  • Deák Ferenc tér: one of the most important inner city transportation hubs, the three lines of Budapest Metro intersect only at Deák tér.
  • Blaha Lujza tér
  • Ferenciek tere
  • Kálvin tér
  • Boráros tér: the other end of the Grand Boulevard at the Pest end of Petőfi Bridge, the suburbian railway to Csepel (XXi. district) departs from here.

Two major green areas: Budapest's largest park the City Park is behind Heroes' Square (Hősök tere) while Margaret Island lies between Margaret Bridge and Árpád Bridge

Pest City Map - Main thoroughfares
