Best Western Orion is a great starting point for sightseeing since a couple of sights in Buda (Castle District, Gellért Hill) are in close vicinity but the Pest side is also easiyl accessible by public transport: the M2 (red) metro has a station at Batthyány Square, and 1-2 tram lines run nearby the hotel.

You can get rooms for as cheap as € 15-20 if you're lucky and book it well in advance, but otherwise rooms cost around € 30-50 which is really cheap considering room prices in other central Budapest hotels.
Alfa Art Hotel - for nature and art lovers

Another low-price quality Budapest hotel is the Alfa Art Hotel in the green belt of the city at the Danube bank.
One downside is that it is very far from the centre but you can take the shuttle bus or the ferry service on the Danube to get to downtown Budapest.
A large garden surrounds the hotel building and a lovely grill terrace in the front yard.
Several recreational activities can be pursued including jogging, cycling, tennis, football etc. Two great beaches are nearby (Római beach and Pünkösd beach) if you happen to come during summer.
The hotel is newly decorated with spotless 42 air-conditioned rooms.
There are standard, executive, and superior rooms and there's a room for handicapped travellers. The hotel has a small exhibition gallery with paintings of Hungarian artists from 1960-70ies.
