Vapiano Restaurant Budapest
by Landon Gildar
I'm American in Budapest, so the thing I miss the most from the Italian-American kitchen in Hungary is seafood. Specifically, Linguine and clam sauce. Now, it's too much to hope for that shellfish would be available at reasonable prices in a landlocked country, so I was flexible in the clam part of the deal. But they had linguine, along with about a dozen other shapes I noticed. This is EXTREMELY RARE in Budapest, where the choice is mainly between spaghetti or penne.
They also had a seafood sauce that was cream based, instead of the more common tomato based seafood sauces. They added some strange vegetables, but it was really nice nonetheless.
I'm not a fan of al dente, I like extra parmagiano, the girl was nice enough to indulge my specific tastes.
Check it out. Ask for weird things. Until now it seems they are rigidly sticking to certain formulae, in an ideal world the workers would be more open to accomadating the customers' own tastes.

Millennium di Pippo

Was now already the fourth time at the Italian restaurant Millenium di Pippo during lunch time.
The first two times I ate a la carte and tried 2 courses of typical Italian specialities (starter and main course => fish and pasta dishes). It was delicious.
The last two times I tried the lunch menu for HUF 1.750. The lunch menu consisted of three courses and the quality was top. As the restaurant is located near my office I will stop by for many other times.

My wife and I visited 4 times during November 2007, March 2008 and April 2008 whilst getting some dental work done.
The food was exceptional, soups (Bean soup)Pasta's and Pizzas best we have had in a long time.
Nice friendly staff.
Going back to Budapest in October 2008 and will definetely return. Mr Charles Berry

It is quite new restaurant (opened around a year ago). At the beginning it was a very quiet place. Nowadays it is always crowded and you have to reserve a table in advance.
Nevertheless this place is still cosy and friendly. That's why it is so popular! Prices are quite good :)
Taste pizza Etna if you like spicy food, get a bottle of wine (this time rather Hungarian than Italian) and dessert (I always take icecream). They have very nice waiters. Owner's wife (at the same time waitress) is cute! You must go there for a dinner!I recommend.

Tom George Restaurant
It is an excellent restaurant in the city center. They use ingredients from Italy, the design of the restaurant is really stylish and it is right next to the Bazilika and on a busy street so it is very charming. If you come to Hungary you should defintely visit this restaurant.
