Budapest is a Festival City. Every season has its own festival so visitors to the Hungarian capital always have plenty of cultural programs to choose from.
The Café Budapest Contemporary Art Festival (previously known as Budapest Autumn Festival) takes place between 7th - 16th October, 2011.
The festival focuses on modern art with jazz and contemporary improvisatory music in the limelight this year.
The aim of the revamped festival is to attract more visitors from the younger generation thus the range of venues will include coffee houses, garden and ruin pubs:

There'll be a a Cimbalom Trio at the Parish Church of St. Francis of Assissi on the evning of 11th October.
Jack London's The Call of the Wild adaptation by the German Muenchner Kammerspiele can be seen be in the National Theatre performed by six actors and six dogs.
The Future Dance in the Present (Jövőtánc a Jelenben) series by Kovács Gerzson Péter and the TranzDanz will show the special connection between an dancer and a musician. Various cafes host the series of show.
The first Budapest Autumn Festival was in 1992. Since then the festival has been renewed and has taken up a new role as a mediator between artists and the public.
