What is a Budapest Card?
The Budapest Card can save you a lot of money. This smal plastic card entitles the card holder and a maximum 14-years old child to benefit from its included services:

- unlimited travel on public transport,
- discounts in certain restaurants, spas, shops, car rental, and in numerous other places
- sightseeing tour for half price
- free or discounted entry to 60 museums and several sights.

The card comes with a pocket sized brochure with maps of Buda and Pest, and Budapest metro system. The broucher tells you in details how to use the card and includes all the benefits you're entitled to.

How Much Does a Budapest Card cost?
You can buy your Buadpest Card either for
- 48 hours (6300 HUF) or for
- 72 hours (7500 HUF), both valid for one adult and one child up to 14 years of age.
You also get a 100-page guide in Hungarian, English, German and Italian languages listing where the Budapest Card is accepted, as well as giving you tips on what to visit in Budapest!
When is it Worth Buying a Budapest Card?
If you come to Budapest for 2-3 days and plan to see lots of attractions, travel a lot on public transport services, the Budapest Card is good value for you.
Where to Buy Budapest card?
The simplest way is to buy it online here. Just select which type of Budapest card you need (48-hour: 6300 HUF, or 72-hour: 7500 HUF).
You can use all major credit cards for paying through the secure online system. After your purchase you'll receive a confirmation email with details where to pick up your card in Budapest.
You can pick up your Budapest Card in the main office of Duna Palota (Danube Palace, district V, zrínyi utca 5) anytime after the booking.

The card is available at 250 places throughout Budapest:
- at major metro ticket offices, (e.g. Nyugati Train Station, Keleti Train Station, Déli Train Station)
- at the airport,
- at tourist information offices (Tourinform: Sütő utca 2., V. district, Tourinform Oktogon:Liszt Ferenc tér 9-11., VI. district),
- travel agenices, and
- hotels.
Validity
The card expires after 48 hours or 72 hours from the precise time you bought the card. Only card with the date of purchase and the holder's signature are valid.
If you use it for getting a discount on car rental, the Budapest Card is valid two days longer.

You can buy the card at main metro ticket offices, tourist information bureaus, travel agencies, hotels and at the airport.
Where Can You Get Discounts With Your Budapest Card?
Public Transport
You can travel on all public transport services free of charge within the boundaries of Budapest. For the Chairlift to János Hegy you get a 10 % discount on the fare.
When an inspector asks you to show your ticket, present her/him your Budapest Card.
