If you want to see the most romantic face of Budapest take a cruise with dinner and live music on the Danube. That's what my husband and I did on a warm summer night.

Dates:
There are 3 cruises every day (except for special holidays like 20th August, Christmas and New Year's Eve). Each cruise includes a 4-course buffet meal with a glass of wine (or juice) + 1 bottle of water (0,33) . Each cruise lasts 1.5 hour.
1. Lunch Cruise with Buffet Lunch - from 14.00 till 15.30- meeting is at the ticket office of the Duna Palota (Danube Palace) at 5., Zrínyi utca, V. district. at 13.30 the latest. See map.

2. Dinner & Cruise with Live Music - from 19.00 till 20.30 - meeting is at the ticket office of the Duna Palota (Danube Palace) at 5., Zrínyi utca, V. district. at 18.30 the latest.

Holiday Cruises on the Danube in Budapest:
Christmas Cruise: on 25th December at 19.00 (dinner c live music) and a second tour starts at 22.00 (this is with dinner)
Fireworks show & Cruise with dinner on 20th August: enjoy the spectacular fireworks from a ship on the Danube.
New Year's Eve Cruise & Party - with 4-course dinner, free dink consumption, live music and 1-hour sightseeing tour on the Danube.
New Year's Day Cruise & Concerts - enjoy a chamber concert on the first evening of the New Year then relax on cruise with dinner.
Length of Danube Cruise: each tour lasts for approx. 1.5 hours.

After concert the friendly, foreign-language speaking hostesses accompany you from the concert venue (Danube Palace or Vigadó hall) to the cruise ship. It takes about 4-5 minutes to get there by walk. The cruise ends at cc. 23.00 and the hostesses can call you a taxi to take you back to your hotel. Our Cruise on the Danube
Our cruise ship departed from the Kossuth Museum Ship at the foot of the Chain Bridge in Pest.

While the ship was gliding through the greyish foams of the Danube we had a fine dinner with a glass of wine and admired the breathtaking view basking in the golden light of the setting sun. Live music enhances the romantic ambience on cruises starting at 19.00.
The Danube river bisects the city into two different parts: the hilly and more peaceful Buda on the right side, and the buzzing Pest on the left.
Both river banks offer many sights: right at the start of your Danube cruise the graceful tower of the Matthias Church and the Fishermen's Bastion draw your eyes to historic Castle District.
Further up the building of Budapest Parliament dominates the Pest shore.
Joggers do their regular rounds on picturesque Margaret Island (Margitsziget).
At the north end of Margaret Island the ship turned and went down the river as far as the National Theatre at the Pest end of the Rákóczi Bridge.
The fine building of the Gresham Place - today an exclusive luxury hotel - stands at the Pest end of the Chain Bridge.
The dolomite rock of the Gellért Hill towered above the water between Elizabeth Bridge (Erzsébet híd) and Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd).
The modern-style National Theatre marked the final attraction of our excursion on the Danube.
